Minorit'Art
Our journal, founded in 2017 in Montreal by Eddy Firmin and now co-edited by Cécilia Bracmort, Géraldine Entiope, and Sarah Tchou, examines contemporary artistic practices through a decolonial lens. Initially focused on Afro-Caribbean expressions, it is now open to intercultural dialogues with other territories marked by colonial legacies.
By collaborating with international artist-researchers, we explore how contemporary art can deconstruct dominant paradigms and propose new epistemologies. The journal favors a multidisciplinary approach—visual arts, performance, new media—rooted in research-creation.
Our platform particularly values artistic methodologies that reactivate ancestral knowledge and alternative cosmogonies, while questioning contemporary issues of migration, identity and cultural transmission.
